About the Awards

The Cairns Miss Showgirl Awards seeks a young lady to represent the Cairns Show for a twelve month period. The Award's main focus is to focus on young ladies wanting to boost their self-esteem and confidence. It really is a great opportunity to network; meet new people, business representatives and dignitaries; as well as to assist with the promotion of the Cairns Show movement.

Judges are looking for young ladies that have an engaging personality, charm and a strong sense of community spirit.

Young ladies eighteen years and under twenty-eight years, unmarried, living in the Cairns and surrounding communities with lots of personality and some general knowledge about the Show are eligible to enter. The competition is not a beauty contest, nor is it an intelligence test; it is a competition where the winner is introduced as the ambassadorial representative of the Cairns Show. The award provides an opportunity to improve skills in leadership, community involvement, key management and confidence.

The winner of the Cairns Miss Showgirl Award will go onto represent Cairns at the North Queensland Sub-Chamber Finals; the winner from here goes on to represent North Queensland at the state finals at the Brisbane Exhibition.
