The 2027 Cairns Show Wine Awards, proudly presented by Regional Insurance Brokers, brings together outstanding wines, respected industry professionals and wine enthusiasts to celebrate quality, style and excellence in the unique setting of Tropical North Queensland.
First established by the Cairns Show Association in 1992, the Cairns Show Wine Awards have grown into a highly regarded annual event. In 2027, we are delighted to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Awards, marking more than three decades of recognising exceptional wines and the talented winemakers behind them.
The Awards explore wine quality and style within the context of our tropical location, with a particular focus on wine styles, complementary food pairings and the overall drinking experience. This is especially relevant in Far North Queensland, where our vibrant tourism, hospitality and dining industries play such an important role.
The reputation of the Cairns Show Wine Awards has been built on a strong commitment to internationally recognised judging standards, supported by highly trained and experienced Judges and Officials. The calibre of wine professionals attracted to Cairns each year reflects the Awards’ standing and recognition within the Australian wine industry.
At its heart, the Cairns Show Wine Awards are about celebrating excellence. Trophies and Medals recognise outstanding wines across the competition, while participating wineries gain valuable exposure within the local and regional wine market.
And the experience doesn’t end with judging!
Following the completion of the official judging program, wine lovers and the wider community are invited to join us for the Cairns Show Wine Awards Public Tasting. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover new favourites, explore award-winning wines and experience some of the exceptional entries from the 2027 competition.

Wine Entries
We invite wineries and producers to be part of the 2027 Cairns Show Wine Awards and showcase their wines to our experienced judging panel.
Entrants can view the Wine Schedule, along with full information about the Entry and Judging Processes, via the Wine Awards Entry page on our website.
All wine entries must be submitted through ShowRunner.
Judges, Stewards & Officials
Our Judges and Stewards are an integral part of the Cairns Show Wine Awards, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to the judging process.
Our volunteer Judges include highly experienced wine and hospitality professionals, with many working as winemakers or holding advanced wine qualifications, degrees and diplomas. They are supported by dedicated Stewards, many of whom are local professionals with extensive hospitality experience.
The Awards also provide a valuable opportunity for professional development. Our Stewarding program encourages participants to build their knowledge and experience, with opportunities to progress from Steward to Associate Judge and beyond.

Results
Following the completion of judging on Friday, the official results are compiled into the Cairns Show Wine Awards Results Catalogue.
Guests attending our Public Tasting on Saturday will be among the first to receive the Results Catalogue and discover the year’s Trophy and Medal-winning wines.
The official results will then be published on the Wine Awards Results page on the following Monday, allowing wineries, industry professionals and wine lovers to explore the results online.

Date: Saturday 19 June 2027
Time: Doors open from 3:00pm and close at 6:00pm. Last drinks: are called at 5:45pm.
Location: De Jarlais Function Centre (Upstairs). Entrance via the Main Gates of the Cairns Showgrounds.
Get ready for a fabulous afternoon of wine discovery at the 2027 Cairns Show Wine Awards Public Tasting!
Whether you’re a passionate wine lover, keen to discover something new, or simply looking for a fantastic afternoon out with friends, this is your opportunity to taste your way through more than 300 wines from wineries across Australia.
From sparkling and aromatic whites through to elegant reds, rich dessert wines and fortified favourites, there will be something to tempt every palate.
What to Expect
- Your ticket unlocks an afternoon of tasting, learning and discovering.
- On arrival, every guest will receive:
- A complimentary Cairns Show Wine Awards souvenir tasting glass to use throughout the event and take home as a keepsake.
- The official Results Catalogue, featuring the Trophy and Medal-winning wines from the 2027 judging. Use it as your personal tasting guide and see if you can discover your new favourite.
- Lucky Door Prizes, with every ticket holder having the chance to take home a prize.
- FREE Wine Appreciation Courses held throughout the day, perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about wine, tasting techniques and the wonderful world of wine.
There will also be plenty to enjoy between tastings. Water, cheeses, dips, breads, olives and an assortment of hot foods will be available to help refresh and cleanse your palate.
A cash bar offering soft drinks will also be available throughout the event.

Tickets are limited, so don’t leave it too late!
Tickets will be released from 1 May 2027 and will be available through the links below.
There’s no need for a physical ticket. Your booking is your ticket. Guests will be registered on our event guest list under the ticket holder’s name.
When you arrive, simply provide your name and email booking confirmation to security for entry.
18+ Event!
The Cairns Show Wine Awards Public Tasting is strictly an 18 years and over event.
You must be 18 years or older to purchase a ticket and attend. Please bring valid photo identification, as security may request ID from guests who appear to be under 25.
